What Is Gold (Yen)?
Gold — referred to as Yen in-game — is the fundamental currency for hero progression in Anime Overload. Every time you want to level up a hero during battle, you spend Yen. When you are ready to evolve a hero to a higher rarity tier, Yen is one of the required resources alongside specific evolution materials.
Unlike Crystal Shards (which are used for summoning), Yen is consumed in large quantities during gameplay itself. A single high-level hero evolution can cost millions of Yen, so maintaining a healthy gold reserve is critical — especially when you pull a powerful new hero and want to upgrade them immediately.

Region 3 (Ice Marine Fortress) drops to 500 Yen per Act, but makes up for it with rare materials like Cloud Cotton Candy, Devil Ice, and the Mythic-tier Gryphoon from Act 7. For pure gold farming, focus your replays on Regions 1 and 2.
